Welcome to Waroeng Bernadette, a hidden gem nestled in the vibrant heart of Seminyak, Bali. Located at Jl. Kayu Aya No.17, this charming Indonesian restaurant is celebrated for its authentic and flavorful dishes that embody the richness of Indonesian cuisine. A place where culinary tradition meets the comforting warmth of hospitality, Waroeng Bernadette invites you to indulge in a sensory feast that delights the palate.
The highlight of any visit here undoubtedly lies in Bernadette's Famous Rendang. Recognized as one of the world's best dishes, this signature offering is a labor of love, slow-cooked for a remarkable 12 hours. The beef or vegetables simmer in a fragrant blend of homemade spices and coconut milk, creating a depth of flavor that is both comforting and exhilarating. Paired with Tahu and Tempe, steamed rice, cassava leaf soup, and pickled vegetables, it is a dish that captures the essence of Indonesian heritage.
For those seeking lighter bites, the menu offers an enticing selection of starters like the Perkedel Jagung—mouthwatering corn fritters—or the crispy Lumpia Goreng, which can be filled with chicken or vegetables. Each small bite is prepared with an attention to detail, ensuring each flavor resonates with authenticity while being approachable for all palates.
As the meal unfolds, don't miss a chance to indulge in one of their delightful desserts. The Tape Cake, made from fermented cassava and served with ice cream, is a perfect example of how Waroeng Bernadette showcases traditional ingredients in a modern light. Each bite is a sweet homage to the past.
The atmosphere at Waroeng Bernadette is just as noteworthy as its food. With a cozy indoor area and ample outdoor seating, the restaurant strikes a balance between intimate dining and a breezy, vibrant ambiance. The welcoming staff, many of whom speak English, ensure that every guest feels at home—whether you're a local or a traveler seeking a taste of Indonesia.
Don’t just take my word for it; testimonials from satisfied customers resonate with the outstanding service and authenticity they experienced. From the attentiveness of the staff to the delicious surprises like complimentary traditional desserts, Waroeng Bernadette does not just serve food; it cultivates memorable experiences.

Had a really nice lunch with authentic indonesian meal. Tried their rendang, lumpia, and rawon dish. The place is also foreigner friendly as all the staff speaks english, and can control the level of spices. They have a smaller indoor dine area, but plenty of outdoor dining seats.

A wonderful place serving authentic Indonesian food with a cozy, refreshing, and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered a dish that was a bit too spicy for me, and although I couldn’t finish it, the staff were very attentive, checking if I was okay or needed anything else. They even surprised me with a complimentary traditional Indonesian dessert, which was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much for the outstanding service Mrs. Kadek—I was truly touched by the warm hospitality here

Great experience dining at this outlet. Service was great and there was an English menu on hand. Highly recommend the Mie Bakso, soup Buntut and the Nasi Goreng. They even provided some complimentary Kueh Dadar for our table, which we very promptly devoured. Recommend to book in advance, we placed us at the air conditioned area.

After staying 5 nights in Seminyak, we were happy our short trip ended at the Waroeng Bernadette restaurant. Gita was extremely polite and professional. We ordered the Perkedel Jagung for starters, the famous Rendang and Bakso soup for our mains and to end our meal we had Bernadette’s Tea and Indonesian Iced Milk Coffee. It was a lovely experience and well worth the money. Many thanks for having us! FYI, All food was halal.

Great Indonesian Food in Bali We were looking for a good Indonesian restaurant in Bali and found this place through Google. The reviews were pretty good, so we decided to give it a try—and we’re glad we did! We chose to sit in the garden area instead of the air-conditioned indoor section. The garden was lovely, although it can get quite hot. We ordered several Indonesian dishes, and they were all authentic and delicious. The service was very friendly and polite. We especially liked our waitress, Kadek—she was warm, always smiling, and her hospitality was excellent! As a bonus, we were given a complimentary Balinese dessert that we had never tried before. It was very nice and a thoughtful gesture, giving us a chance to experience something new. We’ll definitely go back again. Highly recommended!

Lovely service and even lovelier food. My Beef Rendang tasted like it had been slow cooked for hours and was complimented by nice, little side dishes. I recommend giving this place a visit if you're in Bali

My friendly waitress Kadek enticed me to try the beef Brendan’s and it was as promised, tender and delicious. Not spicy. Highly recommended! Happy hour cocktails. Good vibes. And we cleaned our plates. Delicious Indonesian desert too. We will be back Thank you Kadek!
